I'll dominate 'legitimate fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight round fight which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former two time world boxing king Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I plan to injure his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will seriously aim to hurt him. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

Despite such comments, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually famous for his theatrics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead attacked ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he stated.

Paul's History

Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Nevertheless, the novice is still one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, frequently receiving massive earnings.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in rounds four or five and asserted he would derail the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As the two fighters engaged in the traditional confrontation, with their size difference clearly visible, it emphasized just how unlikely this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is actually proceeding.
